What is The Pieta House Wren Run?

The event is a charity fun run that has 2 unique routes. A 6km route (mix surface – tarmac & forest trail) and a 3km route (all tarmac) that you can walk, jog, or run. Funds raised from the event are donated to Pieta House and local community initiatives (50:50 basis). Our local beneficiaries for 2019 are Davitts Camogie Club and Tommy Larkins GAA Club.

How much does it cost to enter the Pieta House Wren Run?

The entry fees are as follows: Kids (U-16) €5 / Adults €10 / Family (max 2 adults and max 5 Kids U-16) €20.

When is the Wren Run?

The Wren Run will take place on Thursday 26th December 2019 at 11:00am.

When are the registration opening and closing dates?

Registration will open on Sunday 1st September. Online registration will close on Wednesday 25th December at 7:00pm. Participants will be able to register on the day of The Wren Run prior to the event at the event centre from 9:00am to 10:45am.

Where do I register and where can I collect my race number?

Registration for the event and collection of race numbers will take place from 9:00am at the registration centre in Woodford Youth Club hall.

Is there parking available at the event?

There is no parking at the start/finish line or along the course routes. There is event parking available on the day. There will be strict traffic restrictions on the course for the duration of the event.

Where can I purchase official Wren Run merchandise?

The official Pieta House Wren Run jersey and bobble hat can be purchased HERE. All profits will be donated solely to Pieta House. There is a charge of €6 for postage within Ireland and €10 for the Rest of the World (incl. UK). There will be a charge of €12 for REGISTERED POST within Ireland and a charge of €18 for REGISTERED POST for the Rest of the World (incl. UK).

What does my entry fee for The Wren Run include?

– Entry into the Pieta House Wren Run Monster Draw.
– Entry to the race, including the usual race support along the routes.
– Water at the start line, mid-way point, and the finish line.
– Loads of craic and music before, during and after the run!
– Medical personnel, race doctor, ambulance service.
– Free tea, coffee, fruits, and refreshments before and after the event.

Where is the start/finish line?

The race start/finish line is located at the Event Centre in Woodford community field.

What facilities are available at the event centre?

Male & Female changing rooms, water stations, toilets, medical personnel, tea, coffee, and light refreshments.

How are the routes signposted?

There is numerous clear markers/signposts along the routes along with Wren Run Marshalls to point you in the right direction.

What is the Wren Rising?

The Wren Rising is a collection of Traditional music sessions that takes place in multiple venues across Woodford village after the Wren Run. For these ‘Trad sessions’, local groups of musicians donate their time playing music to raise funds for Pieta House. The Wren Rising has been a fantastic success for us and attracts over 500 people to our 3 venues throughout the day.
